He has wide experience in building the capacities of diverse stakeholders in the management and conservation of forest resources. His work has included training needs assessments, the design and facilitation of training programs, and the evaluation of their effectiveness for rural communities, government staff, and NGOs. He has also developed extension materials such as manuals, guidelines, leaflets, and video documentaries to support knowledge sharing.
He has a strong interest and background in participatory forest management (PFM), working as both trainer and facilitator with forest-adjacent communities and institutional staff. His research contributions focus on climate change adaptation in dryland areas, particularly on how communities use forest and natural resources to cope with environmental stress. He has coordinated international, collaborative fieldwork projects, with findings presented at major conferences, workshops, and COP meetings.
He brings particular strengths in team building, networking, and working in multidisciplinary and multicultural environments. His experience spans donor-funded projects in Kenya, Mozambique, Uganda, Zimbabwe, and South Africa, in collaboration with institutions such as JICA, BTC, USAID, World Bank, GTZ, ESPA, and others. Known as a team player and motivator, he consistently works towards achieving shared goals in natural resource management, climate resilience, and community empowerment.
